ARPEL acknowledges STAATSOLIE at its 30th anniversary
On the occasion of the 30th Anniversary of the creation of STAATSOLIE MAATSCHAPPIJ SURINAME N. V. (STAATSOLIE), the Regional Association of the Oil, Gas and Biofuels Sector Companies in Latin America and the Caribbean presented a commemorative plaque.
STAATSOLIE is member of the Association since 1985. The incorporation was formalized during the Ordinary Assembly that took place said year in the Colombian city of Cartagena de Indias. Since then, STAATSOLIE actively participates in the Committees and Project Teams, as well as leading the organization and promotion of important seminars in the Region.
STAATSOLIE is the state owned company of the Suriname Republic. It was founded on December 13, 1980 and currently performs all activities related to exploration, production, refining, marketing of oil and derivates.

Seminar: “Regional responses to global challenges”
On July 22, 2010, in the city of Paramaribo, Suriname, ARPEL held the Seminar “Regional responses to global challenges”, hosted by STAATSOLIE MAATSCHAPPIJ SURINAME N.V. (STAATSOLIE).
ARPEL and STAATSOLIE jointly organized this Seminar with the objective to analyze the responses of the regional energy sector to the main challenges that humanity is facing, focusing on climate change and energy sources diversification.
Additionally, the Seminar was part of a series of activities that STAATSOLIE organized to celebrate the 30 Anniversary of the Company, founded on December 13, 1980. It was a great honor for ARPEL to have participated in this event and joined STAATSOLIE on its celebrations.
The Seminar took place on last Thursday, July 22, in the city of Paramaribo, and counted with the presence of more than 100 participants, including representatives of Suriname Government, as well as executives and upper managers from the main oil and gas companies in the region.
Seminar: Interculturalism and the Oil & Gas Industry in Latin America & the Caribbean
On May 23-25 in the city of Cartagena was held the Seminar on Interculturalism and the Oil & Gas Industry in Latin America & the Caribbean
The Seminar was organized by ARPEL with the support of and counted with the participation of oil & gas companies, mining companies, as well as government representatives, international organizations, universities and NGOs.
The event was developed in two days that counted with conferences, panels and break out sessions. They were focused in different topics related to interculturalism and inter-company relations, interculturalism and social management, human rights and sustainable development, Experiences were presented on the topic of intercompany relations and also on business and community relations in Latin America & the Caribbean by the players involved in them.
