What have we done up to now?

On October 2nd.,2005 the Members of the Association signed a Statement of Commitments which represents the commitment they assume related to social responsibility, environmental responsibility, occupational health and safety, energy integration, communication and continuous improvement.

What are we doing today?

We are focused in the promotion and facilitation of sustainability and reputation management in the following areas:

In the economic area, the focus is on the development and integration of the oil and gas industry. The transformation of oil & gas companies’ management, as well as the best practices of state-private partnerships is key factors to face the state-private pendulum paradigm. The transformation includes the change to energy companies (biofuels, renewable, etc.). At the same time, we encourage energy integration to foster industry development and regional energy security.

In the eco-efficiency area, the focus is on emissions reduction and the effective use of non- renewable resources. The management of energy efficiency, and green house gases emissions and pollutant gases aiming at reducing them, is important for a socially and environmentally responsible company. The improvements of fuels quality and the management of air quality in cities and towns near to the facilities also contribute on the same direction.

In the socio-environmental area, we include sustainable management. The areas of high-priority are:

In July 2007, the ARPEL Assembly approved to take gradual steps towards a process of continuous improvement of Member Companies management systems for the thematic areas of the strategic focus of operational integrity and community relations.
