2012 IMCA Safety, environment and legislation seminar

Topics may include a wide range of safety, environmental, health and legislation issues, including successful initiatives to improve company/industry performance, current issues and lessons learnt from incidents and near-misses. While presentations across this spectrum will be considered, the focus this year is on asset threatening events. As noted in a recent report on the lessons learned from the Gulf of Mexico incident, too often safety is understood to be a matter of 'slips, trips and falls' (occupational safety) rather than the safety critical activities which are asset threatening. As ever this the seminar will be focused on marine construction and vessel activities.
