ARPEL MADE A PRESENTATION ON INDUSTRIAL CYBERSECURITY IN THE CISO SUMMIT IN PERU, AN EVENT THAT BROUGHT TOGETHER EXPERTS FROM CHILE, COLOMBIA, ECUADOR AND URUGUAY
In early July, the CISO Summit was held in Lima, Peru. This event was organized by CISObeat, a non-profit association whose mission is to improve the level of information security in the Peruvian society, and the School of Postgraduate Studies of UPC University.
Its objective was to share the latest trends in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Risk Management and Privacy from the point of view and experience of recognized national and international presenters.
Mr. Hernán Vázquez, IT manager of ARPEL, was invited to participate on behalf of the Association to make a presentation on "The keys to assess the maturity of industrial cybersecurity in critical infrastructures."
His presentation highlighted the different degrees of maturity of companies and what steps should be taken to achieve continuous improvement in the life cycle of cybersecurity.
The event was attended by professionals from Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Uruguay and Peru, who addressed different topics such as: cybersecurity and digital citizenship; national digital security strategy; business cybersecurity, attracting the interest of the board of directors; threat hunting: a proactive approach of cyberdefense; innovation in security and prevention; best practices on cybersecurity, strategy and new scenarios; and state of the art in information security and cybersecurity in Peru, among others.
CISObeat also serves as a space for collaboration and networking among professionals and academicians by facilitating the exchange of experiences, lessons learned and the promotion of relevant activities.
