ARPEL PARTICIPATED IN THE THIRD TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION CONFERENCE ORGANIZED BY IAPG AND SPE DE ARGENTINA

  • In early August, ARPEL participated in the Third Technological Innovation Conference under the theme "Integrating the physical and the digital world," organized by the Argentine Institute of Oil and Gas (IAPG) and SPE de Argentina.

    The event held in the Auditorium Techint in Buenos Aires, Argentina, focused on two core themes: Digital and Materials, and Materials and Management. The issues addressed under "Digital Transformation" were IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things), Big Data, Analytics; Digital Field; Simulation and Virtual Reality; Robotics and Automation; Data Management; and Metrology and Monitoring, among others.

    Meanwhile, "Materials and Management" included innovation in Materials and Structures; Alternative Energies; Energy Efficiency; Logistics and Industrial Management; and Knowledge Management.

    The Association created the Cybersecurity Working Group in 2015. This Working Group, whose members are experts from the major oil and gas companies in the region, aims to share experiences, best management practices and new technologies in the world related to the new challenges of cybersecurity.

    At the end of 2017, it also launched the virtual platform Innov@arpel www.innovarpel.org with the aim of promoting interaction among technology solutions providers (R&D centers, universities, suppliers of goods and services) and operating companies in the energy sector.
