Exchange meetings on COVID-19 for ARPEL members and non-members
Since mid-March, ARPEL has been holding exchange meetings on prevention, mitigation and adaptation measures in working environments during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the purpose of assisting companies in the sector to respond to the pandemic in the best possible manner.
These meetings initially focused on prevention and mitigation measures to be implemented in order to protect critical staff and ensure the continuity of operations without jeopardizing the health of workers.
The scope of the meetings evolved according to the different stages of the crisis, and we are now preparing to return to work under “the new normal.”
Heads in charge of health departments of companies, staff and heads of operations and safety, both from ARPEL member and non-member companies, participated in these meetings, whose purpose was accelerating the learning curve and disseminating best practices from head offices to operational sites.
In several of these virtual events, there were presentations in which tools, strategies and protocols were shared to help other participants develop their own measures for their organization and facilities. Such was the case of presentations by Walter Sarmiento of WS Ingeniería y Servicios HSEQ, Sergio Bergerman and Alejandro Goldfeder of Raízen Argentina, and John Zambrano Celly of Schlumberger.
All the presentations and recordings of the meetings as well as other documents of interest from international organizations are available at the forum especially created in our virtual platform Innov@arpel entitled “COVID 19 - Prevention and mitigation measures for critical operations staff.”
