SECOND EDITION OF THE LATIN AMERICA & CARIBBEAN GAS CONFERENCE & EXHIBITION IN PERU WITH IGU, OLADE AND ARPEL
The second edition of the Latin America & Caribbean Gas Conference & Exhibition (LGC), organized in partnership with ARPLE, IGU (International Gas Union) and OLADE (Latin American Energy Organization), was held November 14-15 in Peru.
The event was attended by more than 150 high-level experts.
The Executive Secretary of ARPEL, Mr. Izeusse Braga, participated in the panel "Connecting markets in South America" and presented his vision of the potential development of unconventional reserves and the importance of regional integration to generate greater prosperity.
On the other hand, Mr. Pablo Ferragut, Sustainability Project Manager, participated in the panel "Projects becoming elements of change," where he presented the main projects with potential for greater changes in the different countries, highlighting, among them, Camisea, the LNG project in the Caribbean and Central America, Vaca Muerta, and the deregulation of the gas market in Brazil.
He also highlighted the potential of CNG and LNG development for transportation in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The event was attended by government authorities from Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Cuba, Trinidad and Tobago, among others, as well as the Vice Minister of Mines and Energy of Peru, Mr. Eduardo Guevara Dodds, the Chairman of the Board of Perupetro, Mr. Seferino Yesquén; the Deputy Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA), Ambassador Paul Simons, the Executive Secretary of OLADE, Mr. Alfonso Blanco, and the Secretary General of IGU, Mr. Luis Bertrán.
LGC will hold its third edition in 2020, and Brazil or Colombia are possible venues for such an important event for the region.
