Process safety in upstream will be the topic of the 87th ARPEL Experts Level Meeting in Bogota

  • The large increase of upstream operators in Latin America and the Caribbean, the development of offshore operations, the need to advance in the normative and regulatory framework and to raise operational standards, the need to foster leadership and process safety culture and the concern of society about catastrophic events are some of the drivers that lead Regional Association of Oil, Gas and Biofuels Sector Companies in Latin America and the Caribbean (ARPEL) to develop the 87th ARPEL Experts Level Meeting  on "Process Safety  in Oil and Gas  Exploration and Production.

    This Congress will take place during March 9-10 in Bogota, Colombia, and will gather a considerable number of executives, technical professionals and specialists on the area to share experiences from projects and case studies, as well as to establish a discussion space where the most recent technologies, methodologies as well as systems and management processes will be presented with regard to process safety in upstream.

    The 87th RANE will include five theme sessions related to the management of specific risks of operations and to process safety management in general, and will be develop through a combination of oral presentations and posters. Drilling, completion and intervention; transport through pipelines; oil processing and gas processing plants; offshore operations and technology and innovation will be the main topics of the event.

    The congress will be of special interest to top executives, managers and production, plant, drilling and operation supervisors, as well as to professionals in charge of leading the process safety management and the upstream sector of the oil and gas industry.
