Accreditation Program on Pipeline Integrity Management - Module III - Forces of Nature, Operational Errors and Third Party Actions

BACKGROUND

The Accreditation Program of Pipeline Integrity Management (PIM) aims to facilitate the identification of all different threats that may interfere on this type of infrastructure and implement relevant prevention and mitigation actions in order to minimize their effects, and thus the consequences on people, the environment, the economy, the reputation of the company and the infrastructure itself.

This program consists of 4 theoretical and practical modules that, upon approval, the student automatically receives the Regional Accreditation as Pipeline Integrity Management Evaluator: I) External corrosion; II) Internal corrosion; and III) Forces of nature, operational errors and actions by third parties; y IV) Evaluation of Mechanical Integrity and Risk Assessment. Following is the third module.

ADDRESSED TO:

Professionals involved in pipeline operations: inspection and maintenance; risk assessment and analysis; design, construction and projects, as well as their corresponding suppliers of goods and services.

OBJECTIVES

The course "Forces of Nature, operational errors and actions by third parties" aims to provide the knowledge and necessary skills to identify, diagnose, prevent, control and mitigate all potential problems generated by these types  of events.

INSTRUCTORS

Francisco Ascencio Alba – Chemical Engineer. Master in Industrial Engineering with emphasis on Transport of Hydrocarbons.  Cathodic Protection Technician. 15 years of specific experience in corrosion control. Head of the Pipeline and Off Shoreisk assessment and  Department in the Vice-Presidency of Transportation of ECOPETROL.

Lina Velilla Monterrosa – Metallurgical Engineer, Engineer of Integrity Projects, Integrity Inspector, Certificate in Advance Internal Corrosion. Professional of Metallurgy and Corrosion, and Planning of Inspections and Maintenance of the Coordination of Pipeline and Tank Integrity in the Vice-Presidency of Transportation of ECOPETROL.

Vidal A. Ramírez Valenzuela –Industrial Engineer. Specialist in Process Safety Audits. Twenty years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Since 2011, he serves as Central Technical Superintendent in ECOPETROL S.A.

Hugo García García – Civil Engineer. Master in Geotechnics. He works in the Colombian company OCENSA since 2007, first as a geotechnical Engineer and since 2013, he serves as a Coordinator of the Civil & Geotechnical Area.

José Carlos Hölters Amelunge – Civil Engineer specialized in Hydrology, Hydraulic Works and Fluvial Hydraulics. From 2006 to 2013 he served as coordinator of the assessment team of geotechnical, hydro-technical and environmental risks for YPFB Transporte S.A. and Transredes S.A.  

GENERAL INFORMATION

Venue:  YPFB Transporte -  Km. 7 ½ Carretera antigua a Cochabamba, Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia.
Dates:   6 days, August 24-29, 2015, from 08:00 am to 05:00 pm.
Attention! This course will be conducted only in Spanish

NOTE: ARPEL courses will be held subject to a minimum number of registrations.  ARPEL reserves the right to change the date or the place of the course up to 14 calendar days before its start.

CERTIFICATE

The participant who reaches the minimum required attendance will receive a certificate of attendance.If the participant passes the final exam, he/she will obtain the certificate of approval.  
Certificate will be delivered within 30 business days starting from the date of completion of the course.

Registrations will be accepted only before August 10, 2015. There will not be onsite registrations.

Attention!!! All written cancellations to inscripciones@arpel.org.uy before August 10, 2015 will be refunded deducting 30% of administrative fees. These will be refunded once the course has finished. After August 10, no reimbursement of registrations will be made. Transfers (participant change) will be accepted until August 21, 2015, at a cost of USD 100 each.
