AXION Energy's Campana Refinery hosted the Best Practices Workshop on Coker Unit Operation and Maintenance, held from August 12 to 14.
The in-person meeting—which also included the virtual participation of around twenty professionals—was organized by the Arpel Refining Committee, led by Ricardo Buyatti, and brought together 80 technicians from AXION Energy, Becht, DeltaValve, Ecopetrol, Honeywell, Raízen, RUHRPUMPEN, Wood, and YPF.
The first day's agenda included best practices in feedstock quality, fractionation towers, and plant shutdowns, as well as the operation and actions to extend the operating time of coker unit furnaces.
The second day focused on the exchange of experiences in the operation, safety, maintenance, and integrity of the chambers, and concluded with a panel on best practices in incident resolution.
On the third day, the professionals visited the Campana Refinery.
The petroleum industry, and especially the refining industry, faces the challenge of operating its production units efficiently and sustainably to ensure competitiveness and profitability. The exchange of knowledge among professionals from different companies is a factor that contributes to this objective and is the mission entrusted to Arpel by the member companies.
