Given the impact that illicit hydrocarbon theft activities have on the hydrocarbon transportation industry, Arpel's Illegal Taps Project Team has developed a new publication: "Guide for the Repair of Illegal Taps," designed as a technical reference tool and contribution to the oil and gas sector in the region.

Professionals from TGP, Recope, Refinor, Oldelval, PAE, Transpetro, and YPFB participated in its development.

Integrity management of pipelines that transport hydrocarbons is a set of coordinated actions aimed at maintaining the facilities' good condition over time for safe and efficient operation.

Among the threats posed by third-party activities, one of the failure modes that has increased the most in the region and is having the greatest consequences is illegal tapping due to the installation of clandestine diversions for hydrocarbon theft.
