The 8th Arpel Conference 2026 to Be Held in Buenos Aires

Following seven biennial editions held in Punta del Este, Lima and Cartagena de Indias, the 8th Arpel Conference 2026, organized by the Association of Oil, Gas and Renewable Energy Companies of Latin America and the Caribbean, will take place from June 1 to 4 at the Hilton Buenos Aires Hotel under the theme “Together We Are Energy.”

The choice of Buenos Aires as the venue reflects Argentina's growing prominence in the regional energy scene, particularly since the development of Vaca Muerta and the offshore potential, which have consolidated the country as one of the most promising locations for the industry in the region.

Over four days, the Conference will bring together CEOs, ministers and secretaries of state, members of parliament, regulators, representatives of intergovernmental, business and professional associations, as well as executives from operating companies and suppliers, academics, consultants, technical experts, and young professionals from the sector.

Carlos Garibaldi, Executive Secretary of Arpel, pointed out that this eighth edition “will focus on analyzing how to strengthen the competitiveness and sustainability of the hydrocarbons sector, in a context that demands progress in energy security and economic growth for Latin America and the Caribbean.”

At the Arpel Conference 2026, both the sector’s strategic issues and trends in Upstream, Midstream and Downstream will be addressed.

Confirmed speakers include Horacio Marín, Chairman and CEO of YPF; Ricardo Ferreiro, President of E&P at Tecpetrol; Felipe Bayón, CEO of GeoPark; Javier Rielo, SVP of E&P Americas at TotalEnergies; Cecilia San Román, President of ANCAP; Julio Friedmann, General Manager of ENAP; and Patrick Brunings, Minister of Oil, Gas and Environment of Suriname, in addition to the participation of Daniel Yergin, Vice-Chairman of S&P Global, who will speak on Geopolitics and Energy.

The agenda includes, among other topics:

• Global and regional geopolitical outlooks on hydrocarbons supply and demand. • Natural gas development, regional integration, and LNG-related opportunities. • New trends in refining. • Potential in unconventional resources and deepwater. • Climate and energy transition risks, and their impact on the sector’s

sustainability and financing. • Digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and operational excellence. • Innovation and the future of work, from the perspective of universities, companies, and young professionals.

In addition to more than 20 notable panels and talks, the Arpel 2026 Conference will include visits to the Association's facilities and institutional activities.
