ARPEL at the third edition of Suriname Energy, Oil & Gas Summit

  • ARPEL participated in the last edition of the “Suriname Energy, Oil & Gas Summit” event, which took place on June 19 to 22 in Paramaribo and was hosted by the company Staatsolie.

    In this opportunity, ARPEL’s Executive Secretary Carlos Garibaldi was the moderator of the Trinidad & Tobago and Dominican Republic ministerial session on “Energy for Development – Country Spotlights”.

    He also delivered a presentation on “Natural Gas in the Transition to Low-Carbon Economies. The case of Latin America and the Caribbean”, a white paper recently written by the Association in collaboration with IGU and OLADE. (Download link here: https://arpel.org/library/publication/542/)

    Miguel Moyano, Senior Managing Director of ARPEL, was also present in this third edition of SEOGS 2023, taking part in the “Cross-Border Oil Spill Prevention, Preparedness and Response” workshop.

    The meeting was jointly organized by ARPEL and API, IADC, IOGP and IPIECA, and was attended by representatives from Oil Spill Response Limited, NIMOS, RAC/REMPEITC-Caribe and TotalEnergies.

    Moreover, Moyano and Simon Byrne, from TotalEnergies, jointly moderated the “Health, Safety, Security & Environment” session, which gathered professionals from Pegasus Risk Management LLC, Oil Spill Response Limited, Norbit Oceans, IHRDC and Halliburton.

    SEOGS 2023 was a three-day event packed with enriching content, attended by over 600 delegates, 8,000 participants and featuring 180 lecturers from around the world.
