ARPEL and the Industrial Cybersecurity Center of Spain signed technical cooperation agreement
The Regional Association of Oil, Gas and Biofuels Sector Companies in Latin America and the Caribbean (ARPEL) and the Industrial Cybersecurity Center of Spain signed a cooperation agreement with the purpose of fostering joint dissemination, training and research activities.
ARPEL has a working group -made up of experts from the oil and gas companies operating in the region- especially designed to address cybersecurity, in particular in critical infrastructure. The main objective of this group is to raise awareness about this increasingly transcendent issue, sharing knowledge and experiences among professionals in the field to reduce the vulnerabilities of companies to cyberattacks and build capacities for the management of cybersecurity and the response to emergencies.
On its part, the mission of the Industrial Cybersecurity Center is to promote and contribute to the improvement of industrial cybersecurity by developing analysis, studies and exchange of information on practices, processes and technologies designed to manage cyberspace risks derived from the use, processing, storage and transmission of information handled by organizations and industrial infrastructures and how these imply one of the basis on which nowadays society is built.
The agreement was signed by the Executive Secretary of ARPEL, Mr. Jorge Ciacciarelli, and by the Director of the CCI, Mr. José Valiente.
