The second module of the Senior Management Program of ARPEL was held July 24-26 in Colombia. The theme dealt with “Downstream sector, the new role of refining in a world of changing demand."

This training, aimed to inspire future leaders in the new scenario of the energy sector, was attended by 23 professionals from: ANCAP, KBR Technology; Ecopetrol; Pluspetrol; Schlumberger; PEMEX; Petropar, and YPF, most of them six countries in the region and one of them from the United States.

Module 2 included a visit to the Cartagena refinery.

The Senior Management Program of ARPEL, in its first edition, consists of three modules: "Global factors and their effects in the upstream sector of Latin America," "Downstream sector, the new role of refining in a world of changing demand,", and "Gas, coal and renewable energies and their role as power fuels in an increasingly decarbonized world." They constitute a comprehensive and unique training in our region that facilitates networking and gives a high-level overview of the energy business to those who will be the leaders of the oil and gas in the region in coming years.

The first module, hosted by YPF, was held June 11-13 in Argentina.

The third module will be held November 13-15 in Monterrey, Mexico, and will include a visit to a gas plant and a renewable energy project, both of PEMEX, an ARPEL member company.

The Senior Management Program of ARPEL is led by high-level trainers from IHS Markit, also an ARPEL member company, and is attended by members of the Executive Secretariat of the Association.
