NEW FORMS OF LEADERSHIP FOR THE ENERGY SECTOR IN CYCLE "ARPEL CONFERENCE WEBINARS"

  • At the beginning of November the Association organized a new virtual seminar within the framework of the “ARPEL Conference Webinars” cycle.

The webinar entitled "New forms of leadership for the current scenario of the energy sector: Transpersonal Leaders", was given by John Knights, Director of LeaderShape Global.

We all know that the world in general, and the energy sector in particular, are changing at an increasing speed and that the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated these changes even more. In this scenario, we need company leaders to be able to fully unleash the potential of people to drive greater creativity, innovation, productivity and adaptability. This requires being radical, ethical and authentic, as well as emotionally intelligent and resilient.

John Knights, in his book "Leading Beyond Ego", defines them as Transpersonal Leaders. They work for the benefit of the organization and all stakeholders rather than for personal gain, distribute leadership, decision making and develop future leaders in the organization.

In this webinar, John Knights discussed how to develop as a transpersonal leader and its particular importance in the energy sector.

Knights graduated as a chemical engineer and spent the first part of his career in the energy sector, attaining corporate VP positions at a Fortune 100 company. He later became an entrepreneur, having founded several businesses in environmental technology. For the past 20 years, Knights has specialized in developing leaders to meet the needs of the 21st century through advanced programs developed by LeaderShape, evidence-based, coded, and replicable at the master's level.
