ARPEL PARTICIPATED IN INGEPET 2018 IN LIMA IN FORUM FOCUSED ON THE SUSTAINABILITY OF THE HYDROCARBON INDUSTRY

  • ARPEL had an active participation in IX INGEPET 2018 held October 1-4 in Lima, Peru.

    The Association was part of the agenda in the forum on "Sustainability of the hydrocarbon industry,” whose objective was to share success socio-environmental stories, as well as cases of responsible oil exploration in highly socially and environmentally sensitive areas.

    One of the conferences was in charge of Sandra Martínez of Pluspetrol, also Chairperson of ARPEL Social Responsibility Committee, who spoke on "The value of sustainability in the hydrocarbons industry."

    In addition, Irene Alfaro, Downstream Director of ARPEL, spoke on "The contribution of ARPEL and the oil and gas sector to combat climate change."

    The forum included a keynote address by the President of the U.S. Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Darcy Spady, who focused on analyzing the main reasons of the socio-environmental conflicts, so as to be able to meet the world's energy needs taking into account the communities close to the hydrocarbon projects.

    Victor Huerta, Head of Development of Savia Perú, participated as moderator of the panel.
