ARPEL PARTICIPATED IN WEC MEETING ON ENERGY SCENARIOS AND IN LATAM CONFERENCE ON RENEWABLE ENERGY HELD IN MONTEVIDEO

  • ARPEL participated in III WEC Uruguay Meeting and IX LATAM Conference on Renewable Energy, which was organized by the Uruguayan Association of Renewable Energies (AUDER). Both events took place on July 26 and 27 in Montevideo.

In this context, Irene Alfaro, Managing Director of ARPEL, was invited to attend a regional energy scenario analysis meeting organized by the World Energy Council (WEC), in collaboration with the Uruguayan Member Committee.

This meeting brought together the main energy stakeholders in Latin America and the Caribbean, and provided a platform for strategic conversation relevant to the region, the results of which will allow a nuanced regional perspective to the Council's Global Energy Scenarios.

Alfaro was also part of the IX LATAM Conference on Renewable Energy, where he was in charge of moderating the session entitled "Energy Transitions in Oil & Gas Companies", which included the lecture of Daniel Chiaffone, VP of Integrated Supply and Commercialization at PAE; Santiago Ferro, Manager of Energy Transitions at Ancap, and Xavier Ramírez Véliz, Director of Business Development of Energy Transition at Tecpetrol, the three ARPEL member companies.

During the Congress, and in particular during the Oil & Gas Roundtable, it became clear the importance and the need to involve all the actors of the energy sector to face the challenge of energy transitions, with a focus on people, considering local resources and the right to sustainable development of each particular region, said Alfaro.
