PETROBRAS HOSTED THE 2019 ANNUAL ASSEMBLY OF REPRESENTATIVES

  • Petrobras, founding member of ARPEL together with Ancap, Ecopetrol, Enap, Pdvsa, Petroperú, YPF and YPFB, hosted the Annual Meeting of ARPEL Representatives, which was held April 5 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

    The meeting was attended by Benito Piñeiro of Ancap; Guilherme Rodrigues Lima of Chevron, Marco Antonio Toledo and Nilo Azevedo Duarte of Petrobras; Luciano Maldonado and Juter Isensee Neto of Transpetro; William Wilka of Petropar; Alejandro Muñoz and Pilar Ramos of Recope; Evando Correa Nacul of Repsol; Pablo Ledesma of Tecpetrol, and Carlos Colo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ARPEL and representative of YPF.

    The following cooperating members also attended the meeting: Roberto Ceccarelli of BHGE; Rodrigo Vaz de IHS Markit; Joao Carlos Correa of Spectrum, and Albert Tasias of Tema. Milton Costa Filho and Fernanda Coimbra of the Brazilian Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels Institute (IBP) also participated as institutional members of the Association.

    Mr. Colo welcomed the representatives present while Mr. Marco Antonio Toledo thanked ARPEL for holding the meeting with Petrobras as host.

    In the first place, Mr. Izeusse Braga, Executive Secretary of ARPEL, and Mr. Miguel Moyano, Upstream Director, shared the various activities carried out in 2018 as well as the balance sheet and income statement of the Association for the period ended last year.

    Meanwhile, Braga presented the review of the Strategic Plan of the Association for 2019-2021.

    During the meeting, it was stressed that Energy Transition, Operational Excellence and Sustainable Management are currently three topics of great importance for the regional industry.

    The role of ARPEL as an instrument of relationship and cooperation among members and as a catalyst for knowledge sharing was also valued.

    The virtual platform Innov@arpel and its potential as a tool for business and collaboration was another topic discussed during the meeting.

    The next Annual Assembly of Representatives will be held next year in Lima, Peru, in the framework of the sixth edition of the ARPEL Conference.
