YPFB Transporte hosted the training course on Pipeline Integrity Management

  • YPFB Transporte facilities in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, were the venue for the course on Pipeline Integrity Management devoted to "Forces of Nature, Operational Errors and Third-Party Actions," which was organized by the Regional Association of Oil, Gas and Biofuels Sector Companies in Latin America and the Caribbean (ARPEL) continuing with its commitment to promote operational excellence in the industry in the region.

    The training brought together about thirty representatives from the following companies: ANCAP, Equion, Gas TransBoliviano, Ocensa, Pluspetrol Argentina and Pluspetrol Perú, Petrobras Transport (Transpetro), YPF and YPFB.

    The accreditation program on Pipeline Integrity Management aims to facilitate the identification of the various threats that can interfere with this type of infrastructure and implement relevant prevention and mitigation actions to minimize their effects.

    Climate and external forces, incorrect operations and third-party actions are the main subjects addressed in the third module of the training.

    The fourth module of this training course on Pipeline Integrity Management devoted to "Evaluation of Mechanical Integrity and Risk Analysis" will be held November 17-22, 2014 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
