Its primary purpose is the promotion of environmentally sound management of underground petroleum product storage tank systems, through the application of uniform standards. The document covers registration, installation, monitoring, closure, soiland water remediation, accepted standards and legal aspects. Appendix A contains a List of Definitions, Appendix B a description of a Management of Underground Storage Tanks (M.U.S.T.) Program and Appendix C contains the Underwriters Laboratory of Canada documents relating toUST's, and an Environmental Code of Practice for UST's.
