The technical activity, co-organized by Raízen, took place from September 25th to 27th in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and was conducted in both in-person and virtual formats.
Coordinated by Ricardo Buyatti, Arpel's Downstream Manager, the workshop aimed to exchange best practices and lessons learned on people and process safety; routine operation, maintenance, and inspection; unit shutdowns and startups; lessons learned from actions and incidents; application of new technologies, as well as material procurement and waste and scrap management, among other topics.
The workshop concluded with a visit to Raízen's refinery.
In the context of the energy transition, the refining industry in Latin America and the Caribbean faces the challenge of operating its units efficiently and sustainably to ensure the competitiveness and energy security of its countries.
The exchange of best practices and knowledge among professionals from different companies is a factor that contributes to this goal and is the mission entrusted to Arpel by its member companies.
