Arpel en panel sobre Gas Natural en seminario organizado por el Instituto Brasilero del Petróleo y Gas

Además de brindar apoyo institucional y conformar el Comité Organizador, Arpel participó de la agenda del Seminario de Gas Natural 2025 del Instituto Brasileño de Petróleo y Gas (IBP), realizado el 14 y 15 de mayo en Río de Janeiro.

El evento reunió a los principales actores de la cadena productiva para debatir desafíos estratégicos y discutir tendencias que delinean el futuro de la industria del gas natural, en busca de soluciones innovadoras para el desarrollo integral de este segmento.

Carlos Garibaldi, Secretario Ejecutivo de Arpel, conformó el panel titulado “Rumbo a la COP30: el gas natural como combustible base de una transición energética justa, equilibrada y segura”, junto a Christopher Gonçalves de BRG Energy & Climate; Luiz Eduardo Barata de Frente Nacional dos Consumidores de Energia, y Viviana Coelho de Petrobras. La moderación estuvo a cargo de Heloísa Borges de EPE.

“En los últimos 25 años, la demanda de gas natural ha aumentado un 80%, hasta el punto de que actualmente cubre casi una cuarta parte de las necesidades energéticas del mundo. Su éxito radica en la magnitud de los recursos globales, sus bajos costos de producción, la seguridad, la facilidad de almacenamiento y transporte, su asequibilidad y sus ventajas ambientales comparativas”, expresó Garibaldi durante su intervención en el panel.

Y agregó que: “El gas puede ofrecer a América Latina y el Caribe seguridad energética, una matriz primaria aún más limpia, menores emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero y excedentes exportables que pueden contribuir a reducir la incidencia del carbón en otras matrices primarias”. En tanto, sostuvo que “debemos abordar enérgicamente el venteo, la quema y las fugas de metano en nuestra cadena de valor”.

Pablo Ferragut, Director Gerente de Arpel, fue el representante de Arpel ante el Comité Organizador de la 21ª edición del Seminario de Gas Natural de IBP.
