Fundamentos de Seguridad de Procesos: webinar con IOGP, BP, PAE y ENAP

Más de 500 profesionales del sector petróleo y gas participaron del webinar sobre Fundamentos de Seguridad de Procesos, organizado por el Comité de Ambiente, Salud y Seguridad de Arpel en conjunto con IOGP. La actividad realizada a comienzos de diciembre contó con disertantes de BP, PAE y ENAP.

Entre 2007 y 2024, los miembros de IOGP reportaron 175 fallecimientos en 86 Eventos de Seguridad de Procesos (PSEs, por sus siglas en inglés). Para abordar esta situación, la asociación desarrolló los Fundamentos de Seguridad de Procesos (PSFs), con el fin de reducir y, eventualmente, eliminar incidentes con consecuencias fatales o de alta gravedad.

Diseñados para personal de operaciones, mantenimiento y actividades de pozos, los PSFs se basan en datos del sector y destacan las situaciones con mayor probabilidad de generar incidentes graves. Su propósito es fortalecer la concienciación, los comportamientos seguros y la disciplina operativa en toda la industria.

El webinar realizado por Arpel comenzó con una presentación teórica de los PSFs por parte de empresas socias de IOGP. Se mostró cómo los PSFs pueden integrarse de manera práctica en las operaciones diarias, a través de charlas de seguridad, planificación previa al trabajo, evaluaciones de último minuto, observaciones en campo, intervenciones y revisiones posteriores a las tareas.

También se presentaron recursos de implementación —como tarjetas guía, afiches, videos y materiales traducidos— que facilitan su adopción por parte de las organizaciones.

El mensaje central es que la aplicación consistente de los PSFs permite reducir significativamente la probabilidad de eventos fatales, fortaleciendo una cultura de seguridad basada en acciones claras y concretas.

Luego disertantes de BP, PAE y ENAP explicaron cómo implementaron concretamente los PSF’s en sus operaciones, tanto en Upstream como en Midstream. Contaron el recorrido y las acciones específicas que aplicaron en sus empresas para integrar los Fundamentos de manera eficiente y así mejorar su desempeño en seguridad.
