Although decision-making in the operations world is usually based on empirical parameters (specifically on data), in the field of occupational, operational, and process safety this practice appears to be less common. In this discipline, the “individual case” (especially when it involves a certain degree of severity) often becomes a preferred management parameter over a more population-based perspective.
In this webinar, we will explore the logic of data-driven safety management, with a special focus on the epidemiological perspective of safety. We will discuss different methods to define priority areas of attention, techniques for identifying precursors, and the various approaches and technologies used by industries with high safety requirements to make resource allocation decisions.
