Introduction
As the world convenes at the edge of the Amazon, the COP30 agenda is centered on adaptation and just transition.
This year’s two main mandated negotiated decisions include agreement on adaptation indicators to measure progress towards the implementation of the Global Goal on Adaptation (GGA), and a decision on the UAE Just Transition Work Programme (JTWP).
COP30 also marks the 10-year anniversary since the adoption of the Paris Agreement – what role will adaptation and just transition play in this next phase of global climate policy, and how does the private sector fit into the equation?
Also, on Friday, November 14, Arpel will participate in another important activity within the framework of COP30, organized by the Brazilian Institute of Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels (IBP).
Irene Alfaro, Senior Managing Director of Arpel, will be a panelist at the side event “Energy Evolution: How Global Oil and Gas Organizations are aligning with the Paris Agreement,” to be held in the CNI Pavilion in the Blue Zone.
