Introduction

In this talk, various variables influencing hydraulic fracture height growth in unconventional reservoirs will be analyzed and described, with special emphasis on the Vaca Muerta formation. The general implications of these concepts for fracture simulation, well productivity, and the types of data that can be acquired and analyzed to help reduce uncertainty will also be discussed.

    Damián Hryb

    Principal Exploration Geomechanic | YPF

    Damián Hryb is a Mechanical Engineer graduated from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Buenos Aires, where he also serves as a faculty member. He began his career at Tenaris as a researcher and later joined YPF as a Reservoir Engineer, specializing in 3D dynamic modeling of conventional reservoirs under primary and secondary recovery. For the past 16 years, he has focused on geomechanics applied to unconventional reservoirs and naturally fractured systems.
