Introduction
ARPEL and IETA invite their member organizations to a virtual workshop designed to explain the alternatives available for offsetting residual emissions and assess how companies can participate credibly in carbon markets.
Topics will include carbon offsetting mechanisms and instruments; corporate participation models, including credit purchases, direct project participation and long-term agreements; voluntary and regulated markets; applicable standards; the role of monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV); and key integrity criteria such as additionality, permanence, verifiability, avoidance of double counting and leakage management.
The workshop will also address due diligence, independent verification, and environmental and reputational risks.
The programme will feature Orinoquía Regenera, a GeoPark initiative, as a corporate case study, followed by a question-and-answer session.
