Introduction
Methane has an atmospheric lifetime of around 10 years, therefore any reduction in emissions will result in a rapid decrease in atmospheric concentrations compared to CO2 which has a much longer atmospheric lifetime.
Responding to growing regional interest in developing additional capacity on methane emission reductions, Ipieca is working with member companies and local partners to share guidance and resources to support methane management, contributing to regional progress and the global energy transition.
In partnership with Arpel, ACP and AMEXHI, and supported by IOGP, Ipieca is launching a three-part webinar series highlighting the Latin America region. The webinars will be organised over three consecutive weeks between August and September.
The second webinar is focused on advanced technologies and will feature speakers from Chevron, Ecopetrol, and ExxonMobil, who will discuss topics such as scaled aircrafts, regional technological initiatives, and advancements in continuous monitoring, respectively.
